Pro’s Only please..New shower..install.?
We have a shower that is about 6 years old and has a huge crack in it. We are planning on replacing asap but would it be cheaper for us to remove it considering we have black mold.
Also, if we do take it out ourselves how exactly do we take the old shower out and how do we get rid of the mold.
What tools, etc shall we buy and what about the drywall. I’m in no doubt most of it needs replacing.
Would it be cheaper to do it ourselves or hire someone.?
Any DIY help or anything pa pa pa please!
ALSO, sorry it’s sooooo long but how hard would it be for US to put the new shower in? Place it, grout it, etc?
ok, thanks for the answers; so far. we have friends that will help us through the drywall situation. I know it seems like a big job and I’m calling tomorrow for estimates but I don’t want to get screwed over if I can do it myself. At least the costlier parts of it.
I guess it depends on how much you value your sanity. If you’ve never done anything like this before, and I’m getting a strong vibe that that’s the case here, then I’d seriously advise against making this your first venture into home remodeling. You’ll drive yourself nuts trying to figure out all the things you should be able to just KNOW, and then how to get them done. You’ll never have the right tools and won’t know how to use them properly, setting up the possibility of a serious injury to you or one of the helpers. It would be much better for you to just hire someone to do this for you, while you may want to just stand around and learn.
