tradesman power tools
does anyybody remember when a thank you was payment enough, now a sarcastic “up yours “is considered thanks

I’m the building sites only skilled labourer, all the time i see money exchanging hands or deals being done. Timber for mortar price for price ect. today i had to clean human excrement of the floor after some kids broke into site. my thanks for this “dont take it home an eat it”. 2 hours later i’m using the sthil saw(2 stroke power saw) to cut 18 aluminium legs for a custom sized window for the window fitters within a 3mm tolrance. saved them having to go back to the workshop and recut on a band saw and saved them about 2 days work on price. my thanks for that “we’ll put ya on our xmas card list” At least today i knew my worth, skilled enough to pick shi’t of the ground and to do percision cutting with a power tool that the tradesman couldnt hack! sorry if i seem down but i’m pretty upset. Is it so wrong to want a backhander once in a while and not a slap in the face?

You had one statement in your question that I understood. “At least today I knew my worth” but I don’t think you have the answer. The answer is that if you did the best job you could and monkeys around didn’t recognize it, who cares. The only person you need to worry about is you. Do your best and know that you are not a slug. If you are looking for approval from lower life forms go out to a garden, if not look to improve your situation. There are good folk out there, sometimes these days you have to search a little harder to find them.

50 year love affair with power tools and still 10 fingers!
